Thumbs up Extended Warranty Info

With all of the explorer issues it's a good idea to get a extended warranty. I just got an extended plan 5 years 50,000 miles Bumper to Bumper. That even includes Gaskets and seals, Oxygen Sensors, total powertrain ( you know shift motor we are always changing), electrical and more. I was able to put part of the premium down and pay the rest interest free monthly. If you got under 50k miles, you can get the new car bumper to bumper. If you got over 50K miles you can get full coverage. I think its a bargain with the track record of fords trannys and 4x4 issues. Plus all the other things you normally pay for would be covered. I figured I would give a heads up if you guys/gals were interested. Just give me a private message and I will be glad to forward you to my guy.I wont post him so a million people call him for nothing. I just got my list on covered parts (new car plan) and it covers everything except paint and things like upolstery (cracking, discoloring) and some other things.

Hope this helps.

Did you get it through Ford? If not, please let me know where you purchased it from. I recently purchased a 2003 Explorer XLT, and I currently have 45000 miles on it and am in need of a warranty.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Extended Warranty Info

Gosh, I wish I had known you about a year ago. I got my 2002 Explorer and bought an extended warranty. It had about 40k miles when I got it. I have been having trouble lately and just found out that the wrong part is on the front wheels. I have a 2WD and the front wheels have a 4WD which doesn't have an axle. So I am trying to figure out what to do! I bought it from a Mitsubishi dealership and am sure they won't know what to do. Should I take it to an actual Ford dealership? It currently has 70k miles. I know it ain't looking good. There is a lot of leeway on the right front wheel which makes a loud scrubbing/growling sound. It wasn't until the mechanic took the tire off that he saw the problem.

Unhappy Re: Re: Re: Extended Warranty Info

yeah, i think you are right. I called the sales guy where i bought the vehicle last night. he told me to bring it in and at least let the guys look at it. the problem is that it is a mitsubishi dealership. they probably won't charge me, however, they probably don't know what the heck they are doing either. if i take it to ford, they will probably want to charge an arm and a leg just to look at it. of course, i can't get much if i sell it either... WHOA is me!!
