Question of bottom end durability

Hey, ive just about sorted out all my new 924s' problems and im craving big power, light weight, coil-overs, and monster brakes. My main question, is how well will the stock bottom end/short block built? how much HP can i expect to make without having to rip into the thing and get forged a.k.a. expensive stuff, and not using turbo, supercharger, or giggle gas? im planning on doing various forms of racing, auto crossing, enduro, and a few cross country trips. so i dont want to risk grenading my motor because im making too much power to spend all day and night between 4,000 and 6,000 on the tach....... (speaking of which, ive noticed that the sock piece is horribly inaccurate and i need to find one, possibly from auto meter) another question i have is if anyone know what the best performance mods for the motor are starting with the basics? mine already has a chip, K&N filter, and throttle response cam on the throttle body. im shure the stock pulg wires could use help so ive already got some moroso super 40 wires ready.... thanks for all the help! this place has all the info ill ever need!
