looking at 92 passat gl

there is a 92 passat 16v auto for sale for 3995 in my town at a dealer. there is no sign of body damage or rust and looks clean, except under the engine. it has power everything, air, sunroof and cloth interior in excelent shape. I'm no stranger to cars, but want some info on specific, common problems with the passat. I currently drive a 300zx and need a car with 4 seats. are these cars prone to massive oil/trany leaks? any info would be greatly appreciated

Re: looking at 92 passat gl

judging by the overwelming enthusiastic response of the passat enthusiasts on this forum, I will never buy a passat. aparently no-one has anything positive to say about them
