gtp or gt?

hello, i was curious if anyone knew, I have a 2002 40th anniversary, and the sales man said it was a GTP but its not supercharged and it only says gp on my emblems. can anyone tell me what it is? and on zzperformance i saw that a 3.5" pulley will give 20 hp? and will that fit on a non-supercharged engine? also if anyone has a throttle body spacer? and what are the advantages? i also saw that a colder thermostat and plugs will give more power. please let me know anything about everything i wrote. thanks

A GT does not have a supercharger, just the GTP's.So that pulley wount work.

A t-stat isnt going to add any seat in the pant's HP and either are the plug's on a GT.Ive read about some TB spacer's leaking,so I guess im not a fan of them.

Im sure someone else will chime in.

Re: Re: gtp or gt?

I have to "chime in". "Seat in the pants", I like that.
Having a GT also (and a couple others). It's like a bussness coupe. Drive it, enjoy it and park it at night. Then go back and kill the salesman.

Re: Re: gtp or gt?

Larry,
Look at "performance parts" for GT's on this site

http://www.speedyperformanceparts.co...iac-parts.html

Beside air filters and headers, you can get floor mates and lights.
Got to love it.

Re: Re: gtp or gt?

Larry,
This Montie has the same motor as the GT(I think). Guy belongs to St. Louis club. I think this will go fast

Your car seems to have a lot of parts from friends.

Re: gtp or gt?

the main reason i have the colder plugs, thorttlebody spacer, etc, is to fight kr. how common is that in your experience larry? so far i haven't noticed any leaking from my tb spacer. they give you liquid gaskit to put all around so i seems pretty secure...anyway back to the original question i'd go back and see that dealer. i'd be pissed if i was told i was geeting a gtp and got a gt (about a $1000 diff) if you are going to keep the car, the best mods i think you can do are going to be, cai, exaust, pcm, and rockers, to start anyway unless you want to buy a supercharger or turbo in which case i think they give you some of that stuff in the kit...you can make a gt pretty dern fast with say turbo kit you just cant see the significant gains with cheaper mods the way you can with a gtp.

I can see that in a GTP,but not in a stock GT.Now if he where say, doing a cam or rockers that's a different story! But I can guaranty that on a GT with TB spacer, plugs and T-Stat he is not going to increase the HP and will not feel any difference in the seat of the pants driving Hell he might as well remove the TB screen while he is at it to gain even more .
Another problem that some dont seem to understand is they think the colder the plug, the better it is.For one thing you need a scanner and experiment with different ranges of plugs, just not slap in the coldest one available and think that one is going to work.

Ive done other things to help fight the heat besides having to use a TB spacer

Sorry but that's my

Oh and if I had a GT,id go with a CSC.Thats where id start.

i hope you didn't take it the wrong way larry i was really asking about the tb spacer...my bad, i assumed it would be aparent he didn't need those things since they are used to fight kr and aren't really performnce enhancing in themselves...

No not at all ,I was just getting more indepth. So when other's read this post, they might understand and not just start slapping parts on and except to gain any big improvemts on a GT.

Dont mind me,my back went out and ive been taking hydrocodone's and it really makes me ramble
