Question Chop Top?

I was noticing that the Eclipse in NFSU 1and2 looks REALLY good specially on the side view...even better than the real eclipse...its longer..and makes our cars look kinda stubby. SO my point is What do you guys think? could we stand to lose a couple inches up top, for the sake of looking cool? has anyone else seen it done. ive seen targatops and all kinds of things. but never a choptop eclipse.

Re: Chop Top?

I think there would be no head room with a chopped top. I don't know how much room a 2g has but my head touches the head liner in my 3g and I'm only 5'11". I like the look of the 2G just how it is but I guess a chopped top would be an interesting project if someone wanted to try it out.

Re: Chop Top?

I could adjust my seat for more head room but I like it where it is. I never said I didn't like the lack of head room. I have the seatback almost vertical cause I like that position while I drive which would give you the least amount of head room. I just don't like to drive in the leaned back position which is what I'd imagine you'd have to be in to ride in a chopped top eclipse.

Re: Chop Top?

I'm 6'0 and i'm not even close to touching the headliner. I have my seat in an upright position and sit rather close to the steering wheel for easy clutch access

Re: Chop Top?

im sure you could do a chop top eclipse. especially if you got some lower seats or made different brackets. if you've ever seen the older chop top hot rods a lot of them you basicly sit on the floor so that you have enough headroom.

I don't know if a chppoed eclipse would look right, at least it'll take time to get used to. And a chopped eclipse with lowered seats would be a bitch to look out of. Man, I'm 6'0 and I have to sit in the reclined position to get enough headroom, sucks to have a big head
Because of that, I can't fit anyone behind me on a trip. Man, I don't know how people can have 4 people in their eclipse and drive comfortably.

Re: Chop Top?

well im a little guy 5'7" and like i said i just think it needs a little bit of room taken...just 2 maybe 3 inches....i know i have the room to spare hehe but just thought it might look pretty badass i saw it done to a silvia in japan and it totally made it more agressive looking. and by the way i dont think u are supposed to have 4 people in your eclipse, i use the back shelf to have the 3rd person sit lenghtwise on the seat if i have to. hhehe
