Completed: Mini Coopers

Here are a few pics of my Mini Cooper collection, built in stages over quite a few years.

The first one is the Fujimi 'Kensington' version (I know, technically it's not a Cooper). All others are from Tamiya. I have now built seven of these, in fact my very first model was the Monte Carlo Rally version (sorry no pics - it was broken for spares along time ago). I have at least three more unbuilt on the shelf as well as the 1/12 version too. These Tamiya Mini kits go together well and with at least four different versions available it's easy to create each one slightly differently without custom made parts.

The last two pics show a scene based on 'The Italian Job'. They were originally intended to be part of a more dramatic diorama but I lost interest half way through the build!

Re: Completed: Mini Coopers

Lovely!
I like those Mini's, especially the white one (and the working headlights).

Built a Tamiya Cooper myself too, recently.
Is the Fujimi also that easy to build or is it harder (It's still a Fujimi)?

Yeah, welcome to the AF-family . Those are all nice builds, but the Fujimi-one is my favorite. Well done!

Re: Completed: Mini Coopers

I built the Tamiya 1275 Cooper S, and it was a lot of fun, verrrrry small tho. Did a big straight through aluminum exhaust, maybee I'll put up pics when I get my new camera

Re: Re: Completed: Mini Coopers

Thanks everyone for the comments. I don't think it will be long before the urge to build another Mini in just too great....

The Fujimi kit is quite basic but all parts do fit well. Only difficult bit was making the cutout for the sunroof - I didn't get it quite right 'cos the glass was too small and fell right through!
