92 jetta won't start

I have a 92 jetta 1.8 liter that won't start had snow bank in engine compartment cleaned that out ,checked fuses,gave battery a boost still will not start also add de-icer to fuel any ideas would be greatly appreciated I also forgot to mention that the engine will not crank over . Thank-You

Pull the coil wire from the cap & place it near a ground while cranking to see if you have spark.
