Thumbs up 4 headlight mod

I have a 99 silvy, xcab, 5.3

I did the mod about 2 weeks ago and i couldnt be happier. Im running 65w Silverstars in all the headlights (i modded the 9005 silverstars to work in my low beams).... they are BRIGHT. Its great when i get flashed when mine are on dim, then i turn them all on and its like daylight. hehe.
I have not had any side effects. The heat from all 4 doesnt seem to make any difference, and ive left them all 4 on and felt of the wires and they arent even warm. Its a VERY VERY easy mod, took me maybe 15 minutes. And i've told all my silvy friends about it and they all did it, all with the same ease and level of satisfaction i've had. GO DO IT!!

Re: 4 headlight mod

I have had mine modded for about 2 months or so now and have been on the highway with them on for quite a while at different times and so far have had no troubles.

smart .... now you can blind the folks in the other lane so they can come over in your lane and have a head on wreck

cops around here give big tickets for your headlights being to bright

cops?

where im from the sheriff is a relative of mine... if i got pulled over around here i'd laugh and thank them for the ticket, then throw it away. Besides that fact, do your local police ticket you for having HID... which are even brighter than what im running? Hid that comes standard on many new vehicles? If so there is something very wrong. . As for the "causing a head on crash"... i dont know what you personally tend to do, but i generally dont swirve toward an oncomming car just b/c of the bright headlights. Are you from france? That could explain why you would do something so retarded.

Re: 4 headlight mod

how does this mod work? is it something you buy, or are you just pokeing around in the wires? I'd like to try something like that on my '97.

Re: 4 headlight mod

i never said I would come over in your lane ... i was refering to the other "wonderful" drivers on the road ..... i have the 4 light mod done and its plenty ..... there is no need in putting brighter bulbs in your low beams just so you can piss folks off

Re: 4 headlight mod

I've had mine mod'ed for about 4 months now with no problems at all. It's great especially when the roads are wet and your highbeams tend to lose on dark damp roads. I also installed Blue Xenon bulbs and I don't think I can go back to plain whites now....
Go do it. You just have to ground a wire under the Electrical Center. Do a search in this forum and you'll find the SUPER easy Instructions.

LEd's

hey ryanszpara,

check out : http://www.autolumination.com

He has THE BEST led's available for almost any bulb-type! He also handles HID. I actually run led's in my sidemarkers, daytime runnin' lights, backup bulbs, cargo lamps, and lic. plate lights. The super whites look AWESOME! i even have the super white LED's in my interior courtesy/dome lights. You asked about the "matrix" bulb. Basically its a specially designed LED with alot of forward power but also angled led's which not only project but fill up the reflector with light. Im thinking about ordering some really nice clear tail lights and going with colored led bulbs for stop/blinker, etc. That'll be down the road when i have the $$.

take care,
jerry

Wow thanks Jerry,

ill check it out.

Also, (for anyone) i did the 4 headlight mod on my truck, and it doesnt work continuously. Sometimes all 4 are on, but others (with the high beams still) all four are not on......Bad ground????

I grounded to the underhood light so hmm....

Thanks

Ryan

Re: 4 headlight mod

I'm going to attempt the 4 headlight mod. I'm wondering what gauge of wire that one to be grounded is so I know what size taps to get. I'd rather ask then pull everything apart before I actually do it. Thanks
