Fan Motor

I read online that you can check for a failing fan motor by cranking the car and turning on the air and this should make the fan come on. Was wanting to know if this was a valid method and if not is there a way to check. Bypassing the relay turns the fan on and the relay is fine. But the fan doesn't come on when it is supposed to and comes on other times when it should not.

The best way to check is just wire the motor to your battery and see if it spins! If it does then it sounds like you fan switch. This is easy to replace and cheap too. Also more likely to be the problemif it isn't a lose/corroded connection of course!
