Re: plug wires

Omnispark.....Never heard of them!
The only plug leads I have ever been recomended is Magnecore (crappy spelling).
If they are cheap avoid them like the plague cause they will only hinder your engine.
Omnispark sound like theyve come from a Robocop movie to me!!!!!
I must add, that the amount of plug leads I`ve trashed when tuning up cars is unbelievable, many so called "performance" leads are not worth the packaging they come in and have a higher resistance than the Standard leads.
If there is nothing wrong with your Toyota leads then leave them on cause for a standard lead they realy are very good, spend your cash on something else.
If you absolutely have to change them then go for Magnecore, the thickest one I would get would be the 8.5mm, the 9mm ones are just too much for standard`ish engines and are often very difficult to fit on to the standard dizzy cap. for a cheapish option bosch are OK but only on a parr with the toyota ones.

Re: plug wires

You can spend any amount you want, but your car will not run any better than it will with Toyota wires. Why experiment? - unless you like giving away money.

Re: plug wires

not true...find out many ohms of resistance are in the wire...normal OEM wies have 500 ohm of resistance per foot, nology hot wires have 40 ohms per foot, find out how many the toyota wires have...and if they beat nology buy them, if not, buy them anyway and tell me how many they are so i can laugh at you brian

Re: plug wires

I wouldnt touch Nology Hotwires with a barge pole.

a. Every car tuner I talk to says they are a complete waist of time and I have never seen a pro built performance car with them on.

b. Barge poles dont need ignition leads.

Unless you have made some fueling adjustments where the engine will require you to ignite more fuel just use Toyota ones, they are better than most other car manufacturers. If you just want pretty colours under the Hood, buy some Bosch ignition leads. If you want to upgrade other performance parts later, go for magnecore. I have seen lots of Rally teams use these on their cars so they must be good and they are not quite as expensive as the Hotwires and alot more reliable.

Already looked at your post, my opinion is just that, only an opinion. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Toyota (who knows your car better than anyone) says your wires are acceptable if their resistance is less than 25,000 ohms. Now tell me there is a difference between 100- and 200- ohm wires. I won't believe you.

OEM wires don't have to be the best - meaning lowest resistance. If you can't tell the difference in performance, they are equal in quality because performance is what matters, not resistance. If there is no difference in performance, then lowest price makes them the best. Selling a low-resistance wire is marketing, not performance. Anything beyond that necessary to fire the charge reliably is overkill and a waste of energy.
