2001 Stratus tag light question (help!!)

I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus SE. I took it for inspection and they showed me that the light that illuminates the rear license plate is not connected. I see the connector, it's inside the back end near the tail light, but not connected to anything. I reached in but can't find where to connect it to and the shop wants $80 just to connect it. Can anyone help me? I need to know where the other end is so I can hook it up, hence getting the car to pass inspection. This is all that stands in the way. Help, please?
