2.5rs
I am looking at some options for a new cars and was considering a 2.5rs. I didn't even know about them until I started to autocross and a few poeople always drive them. They do very well when they compete. I wouldn't mind getting one because of the handling and they look good. I drive a 240sx right now and it's fun but i live in the northeast and it sucks in the the winter. I was looking to buy a mid to late 90's one. Any information or what to look for when looking at one would be great. Thanks

Re: 2.5rs
Well, you'll have to start by looking for a 1998 model onwards, since '98 was the first year the RS was available.
As for what to look for, try finding one that hasn't been tampered with engine wise, since a lot of people have been modding them. Also, make sure you hear it run and listen to the engine idle when it's cold, slight noise when it's cold is fine, but if it sounds excessive, it's been driven hard.

Re: 2.5rs
what ray meant to say i think is look for one that was NOT tampered with...you dont want a beat car..do some history tracking on it find out who owned it...also on the 98 model they had the less aggresive front end with smaller headlight so ide say find one from 99 on unless u want the other front end...also if u buy a five speed pay close attention to the play and feedback in the shifter while your driving it, its a good way to figure out if the tranny is anygood...

I would recommend a 99 or Newer...The 98's had problems with Head Gasket's...I currently own a 98 that I have Tweeked to Japan Specs...They are an Awesome Car..I lived in the Great Northwest in the Seattle Washington Area and this car was great in the Snow that we get...There is plenty of little afterMarket tricks you can add for handling and performance as well....Nothing beats AWD in my opinion except Jeep I think they suck....My wifes had 2 Jeeps and both have had massive Tranny Problems Stay Away....
