slack in drivline

Anyone have a idea where to start looking for this problem,

whats going on is say im going along in drive around 40 then drop the gear down there is a slack feeling followed by a faint bump noise, i can also do this by coasting to a stop then when accelerating from a stop i get the same slack and bump, But if i just stomp the gas from a 30 roll or something no slack feeling or bump noise

Any ideas?

Jeff
