Rear Window Defroster Button - Where is it?

I can't seem to find mine >_>;; am I blind? its not on the HVAC controls. I don't see any button for it. I noticed Maro's have a fat rear end and I can't seem to see around it without the rear view. Full of frost. Any suggestions? (Yes I have the lil black lines going across)

97 might be a newer dash than mine but mine is right next to the steering collum, to the right, a little switch that will light up when it is on...

edit: o and if the black lines are on the top and start off thick, and get thinner, then its probobly doesnt have defrost.

and i think the defrost lines arnt black, their like some baise color or something...

Re: Rear Window Defroster Button - Where is it?

Here's exactly where it is.
Look at your HVAC panel - where the big knobs are for fan speed, hot/cold, etc.
The bottom left of that panel has a little round button, that's it, theres a light above it that should go on when you push.

Re: Rear Window Defroster Button - Where is it?

i cant imagine that a car built in 97 would not come with a defroster. i think around here you have to have one to pass inspection, not sure though...

Re: Re: Rear Window Defroster Button - Where is it?

Look on your RPO code list (located on the drivers door) is the code C49 there? If it's not then you car didn't come with a rear defogger. I've seen camaro's with out the rear defoggers but usually they are in places with warm weather. Didn't you say your car was from Florida? That maybe why it doesn't have one.
