Vehicle is a 1993 K1500, automatic, 5.7L. Needed to put in a new steering column and ordered one off Ebay. The one I got has the shift knob all chewed up. So I'm wondering if anyone has changed the knob or the entire shifter on a column for one of these trucks. It would be really cool if I could just unscrew the knob on the end of the shift lever, but I thought I'd ask before I broke anything
Thanks guys-

Re: 1993 Chevy column shifter
I am unsure on how the knob comes off but i do know that the lever itself is simply held on by a pin that you could easily tap out with a hammer and a punch. The one on my 96 kept working it's way out for some reason and i had to keep tapping it back in every couple of months.

Re: Re: 1993 Chevy column shifter
Ok, cool. I saw that pin, but I wasn't sure if that was just the pivot point of if it was connected to something inside the column. I'll give it a try tapping it out and see if I can't just slide another one in there. Thanks-
