Talking Alcohol Abuse

Thats right, the Grand prix is loving the new water/alcohol injection.

0 kr as soon as the pump starts spraying. I would recommend water/alky injection before an intercooler. hell of alot cheaper.

I'll post some pics thursday.

Re: Alcohol Abuse

I need to ask a question. What does kr stand for anyway? It seems to be a new acronym being used by GTP owners and I haven't been able to find a good translation.

Re: Alcohol Abuse

KR= Knock Retard

When the Knock sensors sense Knock the PCM pulls timing to protect the motor. Every deg of timing is like 5 hp or something like that. Last night while scaning the car w/ the pump off I would see 5 degs of KR so my timing was pulled to 10 degs. Once I turned the pump on the KR would go to 0 and my timing would go to 15 degs.

Didnt get the idea from Bilal, idea has been around for some time. I did use some of the parts from his list though, and he answered a few questions.

5-7 degs or kr down to 0 on 93 oct
94 cents for a bottle of windshield fluid

Going to put in some 91 or 89 oct and see if I can run w/ 0kr. If so I'll be saving alot of gas.

Re: Alcohol Abuse

Ripn,

You know I had to read this, if for no other reason then the header.

Sounds like everything is working good. Any long term effects?

Cool, can you run a 2.55 pulley 0KR/21*IGN on 96octane though?
J/K I agree it seems like alky is a great mod for the price.

Any track trips planned to test it out?
