Unhappy I pushed the door latch closed w/ the door open. Now I can't close the door

How stupid is that??? it went click and I said woops....I'm about to go out and screw around with a flat head screwdriver, but couldn't find info on this in my Haynes manual, or here....so I started a new thread on this stupid yet serious problem.....thanks for your info

way to go, easy fix, put a screw driver into the latch, pull the handle, then pull back on the latch (like the door would if it was being pushed open)

Ok, the flathead screwdriver worked. Above the latch is some kind of clip that needs to be held up and then you can pull the U shaped latch down into place.....ahgggg

...well I called the mechanic and got an appt. for a tune-up....and asked him about it and he said check the vaccume hoses. And yep the one attached to the back of the air cleaner was up sidedown...I flipped it over and it started up strong....I'll let you know how it goes and what the mechanic says on Monday,". Take care
