Question 94 Cv Chk Eng Lt,rough Idle, Stalling

I OWN A 94 CV W/ABT 76,OOO ORIGINAL MILES. AS OF THE LAST 4-5 MONTHS CAR HAS BEEN IDLEING ROUGH AND ON ACCASION STALLS OUT,ALTHOUGH IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. I HAVE GOTTEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BUT WHEN CAR WAS CHECKED FOR TROUBLE CODES IT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL, STATING NO CODES AT THIS TIME. PROBLEM OCCURS BOTH WARM OR COLD ,ONLY ATTEMPTS TO STALL WHEN FULLY STOPPED EITHER IN PARK OR W/YOUR FOOT ON BRAKE. FRIEND HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM HE FIXED IT BY REPLACING THE IDLE-AIR CONTROL VALVE.I'VE DONE THE SAME ,BUT PROBLEM HAS NOT GONE AWAY.ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

PS: HOPEFULLY THIS IS GOING TO BE A CHEAP AND MINOR FIX,CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND RUNS GREAT OTHERWISE.

Car had a complete tune-up less than 2 yrs ago, that included a new battery, fuel filter, air and oil filters. New plugs and wires also.
Ever since ,I make sure to change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles.

Might want to check the IAC valve, I had the same problem with my 94 and that fixed it...

Most often a Clogged or Restricted PCV valve is the cause of rough idle,Stalling, and Reduced Power/Acceleration.I'm not sure about it's location on a 94' 4.7L,on my 87' 5.0L its located on the lower intake plenum under the air intake manifold. If you hav'nt changed it in at least the last 15,000mi this is most likely the problem, and something you'll want to take care of very quickly because,it will also cause lots of sludge to buildup on the Valves and everything inside the Crankcase, also contaminating the oil and filter,A good shop should'nt charge more than $20-30 to replace it for you.Good Luck!

You Should Not Go To A Shop To Have Them Change Your Pcv Valve. You Can Goto Your Local Parts Store And Buy One For Under 5 Dollars. And You Can Look Onto Your Valve Cover On The Passenger Side And Pop It Right On

Go to ford and pay 10 bucks and get a Motorcraft. Work much better than aftermarket. Also check hoses for vac. leaks - Both ends of rigid PCV tube. check other vac lines - all have short piece of rubber where they connect to intake - all buried around back of intake. These hoses dry up and crack/collapse and cause all kind of driveability problems.
