After-concert fun

Yesterday i went to the Bowling for Soup concert, which was touring w/ American Hi-Fi and the Riddilin Kids. It was a KICK-ASS concert, and as i left i was super pumped, and ran out to my car before the traffic got bad.
I started her up and put the 2 front windows down cuz even in the 30ish degree weather it was HOT as hell! i leave and turn onto a street (mertyl), intending to go around the block and get onto the street that gets on the highway (front street).
Im sitting at a light on mertyl and hear a fart muffler come up on me as the light is about to turn, and, as expected, he speeds up in his late 80s Honda Prelude, with a huge wing and 6 inches of fart, then cuts me off to get into my turn lane. We catch the light waiting to turn onto front street, then as we go i stay right behind him, and he's accelerating pretty quickly.
We catch a light on front street and i hear a sound, not quite what i would expect, not an idle 4-cyllinder or revving up of a manual tranny, i hear the f-er BRAKE STALLING, so i think "oh crap, im sure as hell not doing that with my car, too hard on the tranny" so i lock out overdrive and wait for the light to change.
GREEN! i give it half throttle so i dont brake traction, then when im about across the street i hit the floor with the pedal and the tires squeek just a little. As im topping out first (around 40mph) i hear him doing the same, so i look over and see he's about 2 car lengths behind me.
Of course i catch the light and give the thumbs up out the window, which of course wasnt returned, and me being htere first i triggered the light, allowing him to *try* a ricer fly-by, well, i say F that! and floor it once im moving and about 20 feet later im even with him, give a out the window as i keep accelerating by, and i see hes got a few chicks with him, so i accel up to 90ish and just cruise on the highway home.

Great night....

Re: After-concert fun

i highly doubt it was 6"...probably more like 4"...my best friend used to have a 4" 'resonator (read: fart can)' on his saturn SL2, and that was pretty big...

nice race tho :-P

This is horribly similar to driving with KrNxRaCeR00 in his 1st car when we were 16. He had an 88 prelude w/ a huge exhaust; the kind that had that constant low but loud "whaaaaaa" noise no matter what RPM you were at. That thing used to put me to sleep on long rides. His car didn't have the wing though.

I'm surprised I lived past the age 17 after all of the near death experiences in that prelude. I know if KrNxRaCeR00 ever reads this he'll tell a story or two about that car. Derek
