Speedo? Engine Light?
My 91 Hf has lost its speedo and odometer. Is this cable driven or electronic? It also has a check engine light on. What is the best way to get a reading on the code? I just bought this car for a $100bucks. Its a one owner, I remember when the guy bought it new.The car runs and looks great, no rust and all original body parts and paint. It has abought 180k on it and has the original timing belt. Ahhh, I know . I will change ASAP. Thanks for a reply

Re: Speedo? Engine Light?
yeah timing belt can give you lots of problems :O
speedo is cable driven, looks like you need a new speedometer cable, and installation means taking off the lil dash thing along with the steering wheel rack, etc. I jus brought it to dealership and it costed $50 for the part and 2 hours of labor, so a lil more than $160 with taxes and everything to fix it. As far as the check engine light, check the ecu code - isn't there a flashing thing under the pass seat carpet or something? i forget, go to forums and search ecu and you'll see where to check the code at, along with what the number of blinks means
