sorry to walk on you silver, but that's actually not correct... the '95 mustang uses a longer bellhousing for the manual transmission and therefore requires a longer input shaft to work. the '83's input shaft is too short, an dyou'll destroy the trans and clutch if you attempt to run it. you'd be much much better off finding a t-5 from a '94 or '95 5.0 mustang and installing that. no worries then. i'm sure you can find a junked one with a decent trans if you look hard enough.

Yes the 95 is using a longer Bellhousing and longer input shaft, but if he is using the the bell housing that came with the 83 tranny, it will bolt up just fine, and that's what I am assuming he is going to do. He might need to modify the driveshaft and tranny mount. The 83 just brings everything closer. Now if your assuming that he is planning on using a 94/95 bellhousing, then, yes your absolutely correct. He asked if it will bolt in, perhaps I should have asked which bellhousing he was going to use first. There is also something else I did not say........ the 83 T-5 is not all that strong, and definatly won't live too long under the power of a 94/95 GT engine.

i'm thinking if he uses an '83 bellhousing and trans, he'll end up wiht shifter clearance issues that will need to be dealt with, and the shifter will be farther away from the driver's body, never a good thing. maybe a short handle would solve that, or a heavily modified stock one such as mine.

yes im looking at using a 302 and trans with the 83 bell.the trans has been replaced and is only a few years old.now does any body know how much shorter the trans will be to get an idea of what kind of shifter mods or fab i'll have to do.the alum. driveshafts in the books show 79-95 mustang so i might have to do some driveshaft mods?
