brakes
went to autozone to pick up rotors and pads for my 94 hatchback metro, and I could not convince the dude that I needed a slide hammer
which attachment to the slide hammer would I need, the one that looks like a wrench end? why do I need the slide hammer? so I can explain myself better to perhaps another associate will I need to bleed the brakes when I am finished |

So, your brakes are the integrated hub/bearing/rotor assembly? Most north american metro's have 2 screws that hold the rotor to the hub. But, some special ones, usually made for Canadian had the integrated hub.

Re: brakes
the attachment bolts to the lug studs then comes toward the center and raises so that the slide hammer can attach.___I---I____ Imagine this shape with lug studs through ends and hammer attached to middle (LOL) best I can do with this system I am on!

Re: brakes
Tell him the rotor bolts on to the hub from the back side. You need to remove the hub to get the rotor off. You will need a puller with the hub mounting adapter. The adapter has 4 holes in it, one on one side and 3 on the other to fit various bolt patterns.

Re: Re: brakes
thanks, went back the other day after I checked it out for myself at the library and convinced the autozone guy's ( different guy plus same guy I tried to get the tool from before) to rent me the friggin tool, "I guess I should have given it to you the other day huh?", yeah, I guess (I thought)
a friend from my work has did brakes before so he helped me out, those little clips and doo-dads from the old pads are a pain in the ass to put on the new pads, but I have new brake pads and rotors now, yeah later |
