Cherokee 4.0L Misfiring and Decarbonizing

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and the Engine Light is on due to a #5 Cylider Misfire.

Has anyone had any success having the valves decarbonized? The Jeep Dealer says that they will rotate the valves in conjunction with the fuel injection cleaning they do and this should clear the engine light.

Need light off to pass inspection.

Carbon buildup can be remedied easily sometimes with type F tranny fluid.use about 1/2 quart to a full tank.the reason for this is that the tranny fluid has alot of detergent in it and it cleans the carbon off the valves when the valves are hot.when you add the fluid drive the jeep around for a while so it mixes well with the gas,and dont add too much tranny fluid if you have old injector seals(o-rings) as it can damage the rings and you might end up with an injector leak.there are brands of decarbonizer out in stores but it just seems for me that the tranny fluid has worked best.My father has used this trick since the muscle car era of the 60's-70's.
