Sportage inmobilizer problem.

My sportage failed randomly the inmobilizer unit.
Any suggestion ?
The dealer is willing to change the ECU (900 euro + vat) and the
inmo unit (270 euro + vat).
Has someone technical information or electrical diagram?

I have some electrical diagrams for the '2000..but I have no clue whatsoever about an "anti start" system . Is this factory installed or after market? I know European models differ in equipment from US/Canada models.
Can you describe the symptoms with some more details?

The inmobilizer system was factory installed. It fails not very often but
annoy when happen.
Normal function is: when power on with the key , the "inmo" lights up
for a few seconds, then toggles off and engine can starts.
In case of fail the "inmo" does not light or lights seconds later in such
a way the starts of engine is not allowed.
Repeating the process sometime it works fine.
I read somewhere about the source of trouble of the sportage wiring
connectors, thatīs why i ask also for the wiring diagram.
Thanks.

Re: Sportage inmobilizer problem.

Well if you used the tread link I posted, It seems someone from Europe or farther east will need to come out with this detail, because this system was not available from the Kia web site that we were allowed to browse before they decided to ask for a fee. I had copied several diagrams from the USA Kia site and have no signs whatsoever of the system that you have.
