Spring Knowledge Needed...PLEASE!

ok yesterday i went and picked up a hi flow cat. and i seen that they carry some springs for my crx, Ive been wanting to upgrade my cheepy coilover for a while now but i dont want to apptempt to upgrade if these are not gona be any better than my coilovers... when you have a kit sagg is your worst enemy.
These are " Megan racing" brand, i've never heard of them but if any of you guys have please share!
Thanks

Re: Spring Knowledge Needed...PLEASE!

Let's see what you got right now then compare... Those lowering springs just look weird for some reason...

Re: Spring Knowledge Needed...PLEASE!

it all depends though... I have adjustable coilovers by Arospeed not just lowering springs and all the coils are equal length. If you just want to lower your car and make it stiff then you should compare the spring rates of the reactive set you have vs. the megan racing set you're looking at. The new ones might obviously be better being new but if they're of the same quality as the reactives then you know what to expect down the line.

Re: Spring Knowledge Needed...PLEASE!

i used to have megan springs for my 01 Nissan Sentra. You'll hear both sides about Megan Springs, but toi me they were good springs. of course, bumpy ride, but handling was great, body roll was almost non-existant, i could accelerate alot faster through turns. The drop may not be as low as your coilovers depending on what you have them set for, but i swore by those springs on my sentra.

for 88-91 CRX/Civic:
springs lower approx. 2" in front and 1 3/4" in rear.
springs rates are: 280F and 230R

and off www.meganracing.com the MSRP is $169.95 but on sale for $109.95

Re: Spring Knowledge Needed...PLEASE!

I wouldnt go with megan, theyre the ones who make the cheap ass mufflers on ebay. Im gonna get.... shit i cant think of the name but theyre really good. They sell em at Olympus Auto Parts by my house. That place is amazing. They sell oem and performance parts. They keep exhausts for most hondas in stock in their huge warehouse which is part of the store. They have this huge warehouse of a building and only a small room is where the sales people are and the rest is storage of parts. Oh the northleg stopped by there on the way to Nopi last year. My friends got to go see all the cars.... while i worked.
