trans problems

I have a 94 taurus with the 3.0 engine, and I need a new transmission. Can you tell by the door plate what tranni it has? I know it is either a AXOD, AX4S, or AX4N, but am not sure wich one it is. Please help!

Crawl under the car and look at the pan. My '97 has it stamped there.

I'm pretty sure every '94 came with an AXOD-E

Check on a door pan. if under trans. part says X, so it is AX4N

Dont want to get oily? The Vehicle Certification Label on the drivers side door jam identifies the auto type. Under the "TR" code, L = AX4S, X = AX4N. At least on my 99 Taurus. Hope this is of some help.
