Original-Teile Mach Blue

One of the models on my to build list is the Tamiya Mercedes CLK-GR Oriinal Teile. The instructions call out for Tamiya MS-4 which is Mach blue. I searched on here but found nothing to assis in acquiring this. Does anybody know where I can get this in the US? Is there an alternative color that could be used if this is not available?

Just get Tamiya TS-54, it's the same color. (well it match the decals)

TS-54 is a light metallic blue and would definitely be wrong. I could see it being TS-44 which is Brilliant blue. Is that what you mean?

I would prefer to find MS-4 if possible.

On my CLK DTM I used testor paint (old built) but both kit are side by side in my display, it make a perfect match with the decals.

Don't get me wrong, your model looks very very nice, but it is definitely not the right shade of blue for that car.
I just looked at the decals again and there is no blue to match the paint against on them so I am not sure what you are referring to?

You can use some of these paints instead of the Tamiya Mach blue.
Linarit blau mica
MCW: #2072

are you talking about the Mercedes CLK-GTR or the CLK-DTM ? (picture on my last post is GTR)

If it's GTR, then sorry, TS-54 isn't the good color.

If it's the DTM:



then TS-54 is the match.

MS-4 Mach Blue is near as makes no difference to Tamiya's TS-44 Brilliant Blue. If you really want Mach Blue then it is available from Rainbow Ten. As far as accuracy is concerned, one would be as good as the other as far as I know. Tamiya just nominate the paint that is closest to the right shade in their existing range. I presume TS-44 hadn't been released at the time the kit was issued.

Looking at the Tamiya paint charts I can't tell the difference. I cant get the MS paints here so Brilliant blue will do.
