gas tank over flow

when i fill up my truck the pump handle dosent kick off intel my tank over flows and my gas guage only go's to 3/4 full dose this sound like a venting problem

The tank will have to be dropped and the vent free'd up.

i recommend a shop for this.

Not something a newbie should tie into.

the vacume line to the charcole canister from the gas tank was unpluged when i bought it if that makes a diff and by the way im not a newbie ive already changed the heater core all balljoints front axils rear break shoes pcv valve and many more things ive torn all the guts out of all the first gen-s trucks i know them in side and out so please just give me advice and no newbie profileing please and thanx

I would get that fixed, that is there to collect the vapours from the tank.

it is fixed i just put it back on you think my charcole canister might be pluged up
