my b16a motor idles funny...i'm wondering if it's not the fitv...I replaced my pcv not to long ago and it makes the idle a little better, but when my car is warming up my fitv has this gradual suction. I know it's supposed to have suction when the engine is cool, but after it is warm it has this gradual suction. Is this normal?? I'm thinking not...Does anybody think I need to replace my fitv? or should I just upgrade my throttle body? If you don't understand what I mean then please ask me to sober up hehe

my idle fluctuates...when I first start my car in the morning it idles at about 1800, while it's warming up it starts to fluctuate up and down.. anywhere from 2000 down to 1000 rpms when the motor is completely warm it usually stops, but sometimes it doesn't.

take off you iacv and spray it down with carb cleaner, theres alittle screen that will be all black.

if it till surges, take off the fitv and screw the center back in all the way

that should fix your surging

Yah. I used to have a good Honda-tech link on repairing your FITV.. Do a search there in the EF forum, search for one titled something atlong the lines of "Fix you FITV, its as easy as 1 2 3".

Its got good info. FITV is a realllllly common problem on 1st gen B16s and an easy fix too.

b is the cup size, and 16 would be the size around just under the boobs, although ive never seen anyone be a 16 anything
