i need some advice.. i just recently bought a car.. doesnt seem to wanna pop into 2nd 4th or reverse.. the only gears that are working are 1st 3rd and 5th, the car seems like it cant find the other gears, when it is in the 2nd 4th or reverse positions.. the car will not go, its as though its in neutral, i want to know if i need a new tranny or if its just a linkage/conection problem with the gears?

Re: transmission problems (5 spd)
chances are the transmission needs to be replaced or rebuilt.
