1988 sable transmission

I've been hearing this grinding noise comming from my transmission. Don't know what it is, but kinda sounds like a bicyicle chain slipping on the sprockets.

Does anyone know what it is? Please let me know before the car fails totally.

The noise has been getting worse and worse over the past 4 months.

Funny thing tho, it doesn't do it all the time, only from a stop until the car has reached a steady speed, then the noise goes away.
