Car washes- how often?

Hey everyone I dont own my own home or have a garage, so usually I got to this brushless car wash- I try not to go too often maybe at least 1 every 2 weeks, I wanted to know if there was something negative with this, and should i always get theri coat of wax? They have a touchless wash as well, I dont even know what that is? Any suggestions for people who dont have their own hoses to clean their own cars?
Also when it comes to bir crap, and lil crap that I find on my car whats the best way to take this off, so far i have been known to spray a towel with some glass cleaner and just rub it off, but is there a btter way?

Touchless wash is a car wash you drive through with no brushes or bristles etc. The machines just spray via high pressure machines. If you can't wash it yourself go touvhless. If you go to a standard wash the brushes and clothes still have the crap from other cars on them and can scratch your paint. Bird crap can be easily removed with water, a bit of soap and a soft cloth. BY THE WAY CLEAN THE BIRD CRAP BEFORE YOU ENTER THE WASH...or the crap will smudge and spread.

yeh, we wash our cars at those touchless washes in the winter time...no choice. i take it in once a week or more if it snows. i normally do the quick wash with the blow dry. if you wipe and wax your car, just do the cheepo touchless wash with blow dry and wipe your car with a clean towel. you wanna try not to use those newage wax gunk that those places have because it just builds up on your paint's surface...you'll have a hell of a time clay bar-ing that sh*t off in the spring time.

bir sh*t, just use some quik detailer and a clean towel. i usually use a bounty paper towel to gently wipe off the crap and then wipe/buff with a clean cotton towel afterwards. don't put pressure on the paper towel as it will swirl up your paint.

i wash my car as i need to, when it gets real bad ill wash er. i do it the old fashon way, bucket of soapy water and a sponge. but my biggest piece of advice i can give to anyone is go out and buy eagle one A to Z wheel cleaner. this stuff is unbelieveable. i have white rims and i can let them collect break dust for a month or longer untill there BLACK, just spray it on wait about 5 mins then spray off. it takes it off like nothin untill there white again. i live by the stuff!

I just washed/detailed the G today. It was a nice day out so I decided to do some spring cleaning. I started with a dishsoap wash which is great to get all of the old wax and winter crap off of the paint (but you should usually use Meguiars or Mothers soap when washing normally). Next step was polishing/preping with Zymol Paint Cleaner. Finally a good coat of Meguiars Gold Class Wax to make her shine. Of corse can't forget the wheels/tires. I use Eagle for those.

P.S. The greatest detailing tool I own is the Meguiars Ultimate Wipe Microfibre Detailing Cloth. The cloth is unbelievable and is amazing for giving the car it's final touches.

In total this took about 7 hours WITH a prerssure washer and a buffer BUT my car is black and I'm a bit of a perfectionist...

I wash my car every 2 weeks. I try to keep it clean the best I can in that time frame.

I just washed my G today tis nice out today so I decided to wash my G since I haven't done it in over a month b/c of the winter. But during the summer I will usually wash my car every 2 weeks unless it's really dirty. And I always do it myself. I never take it to a car wash or a car detail place. They'd probably put a few dents or scratches in my car

Typically weekly, by hand. Car looks sooo much nicer when it's clean. Never considered a carwash - there's bugger all non-contact ones around here.
But the poor Primera won't be too happy this weekend - I'm too sick to get out there and wash it
