mazda rx-8 vs. gtp comp g

Hello, i got an upcoming race with a rx-8. I have a 04 comp g with no modifications what so ever. i looked up the rx-8's stats (motortrend) and i found out that its 0-60 time is half a second quicker. I was thinking, the motor trend test for the rx-8 was done by a porfessional who knows how to shift accurately. So maybe this kid that i will race will not know how to shift right(6 speed). I dont know should i wait till i get some mods or should i just go through with it. There is a 1000 dollar bet on it. He is probably joking though.

well ya they have a professional driver do the tests until they feel that is the best they can do.. and or get outa the car without destroying it.

acually with a six speed he will be shifting more than u - he will be goin through his gears faster but will be able to pull out the gears longer after 2nd gear - cause the ratio will change - the frist 2 gears are quick in those cars - the rotory engine is pretty impressive afraid to say it to ya but u will prob get beat if he is a good driver n doesnt mis shift.... i even though i love GP's an love mine - if u are stock u gonna 90% get beat..... ok i'll let u borrow my twin turbo aslong i stay in the passenger seat with a gun case u crash- 0-60 in 4.8 its quick u will rape him with it ... does 135 just in 3rd gear lol -- any how good luck do some under hood mods real fast an get any kind of time knock ya can!!

with that much money on the line you should consider at least puting some modifications into the car...a smaller pulley, u-bend delete, and an intake won't run you that much and give you a significantly better chance....

04-??? GTP are not the same engine as previous generation. There for any 0-60 time off a 2000 GTP is not going to be the same as a 2004

Motor Trend
Comp G
0-60: 6.2

Didnt list a 1/4 mile time

Just drop down the pulley to a 3.3 pulley boys modular system and get a CAI and go kill him out of the hole.

Comp G's dont have a u-bend

Well Larry,
I looked at my map. Your only about 15" from him. Why don't you drive over and race the guy for him? I'd go, but your 1" closer.
Well it was just a thought.

Re: mazda rx-8 vs. gtp comp g

Didn't like the 15" part? Thought it was funny.

Been smoking Marlboro's for 40 years. When I was in the Army you could a pack for 18 cents!!! With taxes in Florida, they are $25.66. In Michigan right now they are $45.00. Canada is like $65.00.
I'll stay down here till I quite. OR die.

OK, let's start this over....
Larry,
Can you help JEFF with this. He's in the NAVY and has this elec. trouble.
Boy you two need each other.
Or send me the money, I'll ship them from here.
Cartons are always cheaper.

Re: Re: mazda rx-8 vs. gtp comp g

Been having that same trouble. I have DSL and this is the only site I'm having trouble with.

Like those tips? Told you I'd get them. Found out how much this guy took off the car before I bought it. I think I'll find him, and...

Found this on a site. Love the "old head"

Re: mazda rx-8 vs. gtp comp g

Ok, i decided to begin modding the gp. I was thinking about buying the wizaired cai from zzperformance, 3.2 or 3.35 pulley, ngk spark plugs, 180 degree thermostats. Will these applications leave me with any KR?

Every car acts different,to be on the safe side Id stick with the 3.30 on a Comp G.They dont make a 3.35.Only way to know if you have KR,would be to have a scanner.

Stay away from the NGK plugs, nothing but problems on our car's.If you dont mind changing plugs offten, then you could go with the Copper core Autolites part # 605 they are 1 colder.I like the AC-Delco platinum 41-932's gapped @ 0.058 they are 1 colder also and will last a lot longer.
