96 Corsica Starts Only With Foot on the Gas Pedal

Strange but true. I have to do this when it's cold. Any Ideas? 45,000 miles on the clock.

Does it sputter when it idles? If so your IAC valve is dirty/gummed up and requires cleaning! You're technically doing it's job by opening the throttle!

Yes it does, then after 30 secs. or so it smooths out.

Yeah you IAC valve on you throttle body isn't opening all the way! Look for the sticky for directions. Don't know what motor you have.

I found the AIC and I took it off along with the throttle body. What I found on the AIC was a threaded plunger with a spring and a ball on the end of it. I started to clean the AIC and the plunger fell off. This led me to believe this is the problem. So I finished cleaning every thing and screwed the plunger back in. I still had to put my foot on the gas to start it but that could be because of the carb cleaner. I should know by mourning when she's cold. By the way I could not move the plunger at all. Seems like it should have some travel.
