i pod mini question

well i have an i pod mini and i have had it for a while and downloaded a few songs onto it on my old dell and today i downloaded itunes onto my laptop and it sayed something like this ipod '' little silver box '' has library's in two separate places do you want to change the link from blah blah. so i was like wdf? and clicked ok and it downloaded butr when i went to listen to them like 5 seconds ago there wern't any songs on it not even the new ones why did this hapen ? does any one know how i could add the songs on my laptop to the ipod without deleting everything

there weren't any songs on the ipod or on the laptop?? one thing i hate is my ipod died so i now my faith in all apple ipods are .. lol yeah ...
