ZC tranny VS. SI tranny

Ok there are many pros and cons about this swap ive heard people say that the zc tranny with the Si final drive is perfect for street/strip play.
but in a article i read on the internet said to put the si final gear is difficult "but not impossible" so since im driving a d series engine im gonna save gas anyway so might as well try hu?

What do you people think any advice would be good

Do a search cuz it's been talked about a good bit. Basically, if you like cruising to the tune of 4k rpms in 5th gear at 75-80mph then Si tranny is what you want...

LOL...with my b16 Y1 tranny, i'm at 79 MPH at 4k RPM. It does suck on gas, but, it makes it really nice and simple when you want to pass someone on the highway...instant acceleration because you're right in your power range (well i am).
It shouldn't be that hard. Dseries parts swap over easily. It is also a better upgrade to use the zc tranny because it uses an intermediate shaft and equal length axles like the bseries...which is slightly better for acceleration and battles torque steer.

Re: ZC tranny VS. SI tranny

yea use the zc tranny and swap in the si final drive. its not to hard just make sure you take good notes/pictures of what everything looks like and how you take it off so that it all goes back together the same way. the zc/si tranny is the best cause you get the short gears of the zc tranny with teh close ratio final drive of the si. if i remember right with the zc/si tranny you are at like 5grand at 75-80! some people swap the zc 5th gear out for the si 5th gear.
