Question fuse/accessory power

Hey guys, I'm new so bear with me. I have a 92 s10, and I'm having some problems with the accessory power plug on the dashboard. I keep frying 20 amp fuses from the horn/DM. The items that blew them were a million candle light deer spotter and my cell phone. Can I put a 25 amp fuse in there to support these, or is it a short somewhere?

One or the other dude, not both. And *NEVER* "upgrade" a fuse. Put 20's back in there just like what came out. Otherwise, I would make sure that your fire premium is paid up for the year before attampting this.

Let's see, a '92, I suppose you mean the cigarette lighter socket. Change it, it is bad.

Re: fuse/accessory power

Your are drawing too much current for the fuse whether it's the accessories or the socket shorting out. If the circuit has a 20 amp fuse, it should have a normal draw of about 10 amps. If you put a larger fuse in the holder, you stand the chance of overloading the wiring and causing a fire. Not a good thing even in the cold months.
