Location of crankshaft sensor and throttle position sensor

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee that loses power after being driven a couple hours...It continues to run but, it doesn't accelarate when given gas. If I turn it off for 5 to 10 minutes..... it will start and drive as normal. While looking at the message board it appears that the tps throttle position sensor or the crankshaft sensor could be the problem. Where are these sensors located?

Re: Location of crankshaft sensor and throttle position sensor

I changed the TPS and it solved my problem it is on the left side of the throttle body under the air box, real simple to change. Do not get the part at jeep they want 90 bucks for it, get it at papco or napa or discount auto parts for around 35 bucks

Re: Location of crankshaft sensor and throttle position sensor

rudy - thats deffinately the TPS - it is located at
\he end of the throttle shaft on the throttle body right across from the Accelerator, Cruise and TV Cables (2 bolts= T25 Torx bit holding it in place) it also hasa 3 wire electrical connector.

The CPS is located
4.L I6 engines - On the driverside of the transmission bellhousing.

5.2L/5.9L V8 engines - on the Passenger side of the engine block, behind the right (passengerside) exhaust manifold. it is easier to get to if you remove the Heat shield and Exhaust manifold.
