Exclamation Advice Please?

Hello everyone, i have read the forum for a while and just signed up because i need some help.

1st off i love my camaro but last week she got blown up and i dont want to sell it but cant afford a engine swap...

there is another camaro in my neighborhood for sale i can pick up, sadly it's a 2.8 but i can deal with it because i need a ride from point A to point B my 85 berlinetta with the 305's body is in great condition fresh paint, new t-tops ect..

so i have a few questions for u guys...

1.) the body isnt too great on the 3rd gen 2.8 so can i swap like fenders/bumpers and they bolt right up?

2.) the gastank on the 2.8 needs to be replaced (thats the prob with the car) can i swap the tank from my 3rd gen berlinetta?

3.) also how hard/ or if u have info on swapping gas tanks...that would help....

Re: Advice Please?

Yes the body panels should bolt up and I usually check www.car-parts.com to see what parts are interchangable. If you enter what vehicle you need a replacement part for it will give you other years and engine s that were interchangable. Also the fuel tank is not all that easy to change. I will try to find a link as to how to change it. Welcome to the Forum.

Re: Advice Please?

yeah the body parts should bolt on no prob i have a 89 2.8 and and my bumper and side panels in the back came from a 85 or 86 z 28 dont remember, but yeah they fit, as for the gas tank, its gonna be a real bitch getting it out, we were gonna replace the fuel pump in mine not to long ago and believe me it was hard, but then we found out that wasnt the problem and just put everything back, but yeah its gonna be hard, if you got the money just take it to a shop man good luck
