New Tuscani

Im in the military and Im stationed in Guam, I need a car. Just a few months ago i bought a 94 Stealth (Naturally Aspirated). I need something different and im looking to Hyundai. My only other friend who has an interest in cars hates Tiburons/Tuscanis so hes not much help in picking out a good one for after market modifications. I work most of the day and dont have a lot of time to spend on line researching so im just wondering which Tiburon wont break when I start to add power to the wheels. Ive heard about a lot of problems getting the Delta over 250whp, so what year and engine code wont cost me up the ass to make a forced induction that spools up more than 18 lbs of boost. Im really looking for an engine that someone makes a turbo kit for, and i'll take it from there. Im looking into CO2 and trying to stay away from Nitrous, but anything will help. I hear it takes a lot to get a Tiburon past 12's

Appreciate it.

Re: New Tuscani

If you want to go with a low power engine stock then add a lot of power to it without it breaking I would go for the I-4 tib. But if you want to have a high power stock engine and add just a tad bit more of power to it, I would take the V-6 tib. It all matters, ya want to race it the instance you get it out of the car dealer? get the V-6. Or ya want to customize it a bit then race it? get the I-4 tib.

Re: New Tuscani

and about getting a tib into the 12 sec range, it only takes a short throw shifter and cold air intake and a real skilled shifter to get a v6 tib to 160 mph. Which will run ya possibly into the 14's.

hmm alright
well first off.. the Delta can handle well over 400 Whp with stock internals...
the 250whp was a rumor...
heres the latest (one of the most powerful V6s out now)
supercharged 327.5 whp at 10psi

the same company that made this happen is building a turbo kit for the V6...
V6 turbo kit ... still being tweaked

lemme knwo if you got more questions i can get alota info for you

Re: New Tuscani

Or get a 97-01 Tiburon. The Beta 1 block can take a shitload of abuse. The internals aren't as good, however. If you wanna run alota HP, you'll need to get forged turbo internals, a standalone ECU, and a good LSD (and a turbo kit, of course).

Re: New Tuscani

Except CVVT sucks balls. Plus he could use the extra money he saved by buying an RD on performance.

Or he could go the ricer route and throw some vinyls, a fart can, and a huge ass wing on it.

Re: New Tuscani

No, he asked if the rumor that Delta's were having trouble holding alota HP was true. He also asked what year and engine code won't cost him alota money to be able to run 18 psi. I gave him my opinion, you gave him yours. Let's leave it at that.
