General Q about engines
I really love my ride, but I just wished it had a little more (a lot) power. I could get another ride, but there aren't too many affordable luxury rides with 5spds. So, I am wondering what's the biggest engine I can put in my G. Is it possible to put a Maxima 3.0 or the new V spec that comes with the sentra? I like my ride quite thats why I don't really want all that exhaust and header stuff. If I get a sr20det or sr20ve, how much would it run me to do a complete install, all said and done final price?

i would definitly put in a sr20det before a maxima engine. i had a shop with very high buying power down by my house quote me 3000 for the entire thing engine, shipping, installation blah blah blah. just ask the guys on the board with det's they will tell u exactually where and what to get.

so if i do decide to do a DET swap, al said and done with installation at a shop, it would run me $3000? Plus, I can't really find any shops around here that specializes in Nissan/Infiniti performance. It seems like everyone here only does
Honda shit.

there is no *final and set price* for an engine swap. you never know when complications can arise. also, it depends if you want upgrade some things while the engine is out of the car. always estimate a couple thousand more than the quote just in case something happens, i.e. turbo blows.
BB sr20det - $1500-2000 FMIC - $1000 (recommended) fabricated piping - $200-300 exhaust filter replace main bearings (tends to spin main bearings) turbo timer - $100 gauges - $200-300 labor turbo rebuild - $100 (if turbo is bad) stronger clutch - $300 retuned JWT ECU |

I want to do the swap just for the extra power, I am not concerned with all that exhaust, intake, guages, etc. I would like my car to remain stock as much as possible. My goal here is to keep my G as a luxury ride, I just want more power for the daily drive.

Seems like he would want the SR20VE.. he probably doesn't want to deal with a turbo and the noise a turbo makes.
