Some Kills for the G35

DISCLAIMER: This weekend was the first time that it snowed in my area. We got around 10-12 inches, so most of the roads were still a little slippery.

Anyway, I decided to go out w/the G35, and see if I could get any kills tonight. I called up one of my friends and we were ready to cruise. Luckily, the roads were mostly deserted, so we had the tarmac to ourselves.

My friend normally drives a 2000 audi a4 1.8t, but today he brought out his 1993 cadillac deville. That alone almost made me turn back and go home, but i thought it would be fun so I didn't say anything.

We were both driving down this straight two lane road when we spotted a Dodge Neon SXT(not that impressive, i know, don't tell me about it). I let my friend have a go, so when we stopped at the next light the neon was in the right lane and my friend was in the left. I got behind the cadillac, and waited for the light to go green (no need to take it out of auto this time). I guess the neon driver was up for it b/c he noticed when the cadillac revved, and he flashed his brights in return. When the lights finally switched the cadillac spun its tires while the neon pulled about half a car on him. I waited for them to cross the interestion, and then i gunned it too. By the top of second the race was over. The cadillac was pouring on speed so fast i could hardly believe it. I passed the neon at that point, and I was about a car and a half behind my friend. I passed him at about 80.

The next race was probably the best one. We kept on cruising for about 10 more minutes until we noticed a mini cooper s at the light ahead of us. We were stopped on red, so i knew that if i wanted to race him i would need to play catch up.

Basically, i floored it with the traction control off, and I spun my tired all the way through first (the road was wet) before I backed off. At this point, the cadillac was waaay behind and I was catching up to the mini. I got even with him, and paced him to the next light. I dropped it in neutral, and revved to show him that I was game. Initially, he didn't do anything, but after a couple of more revs he looked over and turned on his dome light while pointing forward. I nodded back, and put it into "manuamtic" first gear.

I powerbraked to about 1500, and when the lgiht tunred green I eased into the throttle. The mini was spinning, and I had already gained a half car length. I floored it at about 5000 in first, and shifted into second at redline. The mini was 1/2 to 3/4cl back, but when I shifted into second I spun the tires briefly and pulled him like a freight train. The mini quickly fell back about a car and a quarter, and my the time i got into third he was a good 2 1/2 to three carlengths back. I backed off midway through third, and coasted to the next light. The mini just drove up to the light and tunred left w/o even giving a thumbs up. I guess some people are sore losers...

My friend called me on the cell, and told me how he had, in all of his excitment, driven over a curb while trying to see what was happenig in our race. The cadillac had a scraped bumper, and a curbed rim but the driver was okay. He turned back to go home, and I was left on my own.

The final encounter happneded with a Ford Club Wagon. I was at a light very close to my house, and there was a blue club wagon next to me. I wasn't even paying attention, but I guess he wanted to either impress someone. Next thing I know, the light tunred green, and I saw him peeling out under full throttle all the way through first (wet road). I didn't react, and at the next light I just took the turn into my neighborhood while getting slightly sideways

That's it. Noting really good, but still a decent night hunting for some kills.

I love the G35 and was hoping to hear a few stories of somebody that finally pushed the car hard. I know one person who owns one and she won't break the speed limit, and I know those cars can fly. If you race again, definately post it
