What the hell!!!!!

I was reading the faq and it says that the soch motor cars run mid 16's...... when i was on the track last summer i ran 17.1 most of the time and once a clean 17 whats the problem? is it the automatic or is there something wrong? its not the milage as my car only has 55k miles on it!

Re: What the hell!!!!!

Well those sohc are pretty crappy, but if you have an automatic that would account for some, however 165 hp in a 3380 lb car is WEAK i would say its track conditions, also have you done the 60k tune up that may be the reason your turning out 17's

Re: What the hell!!!!!

i have done the 60k change a while ago i did the tune up at 47k miles. becouse no one knew when to change them and the timing belt had not been changed for 11ears.

but the tune up was done a little different. the timing belt has been changed and the water pump checked. i have no idea if the sparkplugs and wires have been changed (they will probably be changed as needed). and i have no idea if the gas filter was changed as the timing belt change was done by a mechanic

Re: What the hell!!!!!

do it my self. i think its better when i manualy change i got a 16.9 once

i am hoping for a beter 1/4 time next summer as i have got a cold air intake wich gives me i tiny bit more power if im lucky. and i am running a 205/40/16 tires but last summer was using 225/45/16 tires. next summer im going to remove the spare and jack and sterio system and maby some of the interior before racing.

well i at least beat a inpreza non turbo with computer chip, manual, exhaust, and cold air filter. and that makes me satisfied
