Gas In Oil

Found Gas In Oil: Lots Of It
1994 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4.3 Liter Vortex
Engine Would'nt Even Turn Over, Drained And Replaced Oil,pulled Plugs. Large Amounts Of Gas Came Out Of The Cylinder In The Center On The Drivers Side. Turned Over Engine With Plugs Out And Gas Came Shooting Out Of The Center Cylinder (call It #2). Put New Plugs Back In And Tried Starting.
Turned Over For A Bit And Was In The Same Situation Again. Oil Full Of Gas And #2 Cylinder Full Of Gas.
Don,t Know Much About Engines But It Seems Like The #2 Injector Is On All The Time: If There Is A Separate Injector For Each Cylinder? Can't Seem To Find Any.
Can Anybody Help Me

Re: Gas In Oil

I can't seem to find specific info for the injectors on your engine. Do you have a throttle plate type device on the top of the engine or is the plate with the throttle mounted sidways? If it is the first configueration, which I think it is, The injector is stuck open. Or the wire the computer uses to fire the injector is touching ground somewhere. Don't try to start the engine. Take the plugs out and disable the spark. A lot of fuel is a fire hazard. Unplug the multi conector just to the rear of the throttle assmbly. Should have 12 wires, 2 for each injector. Now power up the fuel system and watch for fuel in the affected cylinder. If the injector is stuck, you will see fuel. If you don't, the injector is being held open electrically. Reports say these system have a high failure rate. The injectors are right under the connector and have hoses on them going to a nozzle at each cylinder. It requires removeing the top of the intake to access them.

You have a stuck injector foir sure. Will have to replace the entire assy which is called a spider assy. Also will need to replace the incoming lines to it (nut kit) and the plenum gasket. Cylinder(s) fill with gasoline, and you also have gas in your oil. As previous post suggeted proceed with caution on gas. There is a detailed (with pictures) example shown in the Blazer forum by BlazerLT. Very helpful. Cost if you do yourself will be anywhere from 275-300 dollars plus oil change. Buy the stuff on ebay if possible. Actual GM stuff best to use, and in fact the nut kit is a dealer only item. I bought one from guy in NJ who had a dealership and he sold me all for $290.
