My Battery has not been getting a charge it will hold a charge but if the engine is runing the battery will die after running for an hour or two. The alternater is new i just put it in.

Check the connections on your alternator. They may need cleaning or may even be lose!

Your new alternator may be bad... I got a bad one this last year and took forever to diagnose it.

The problem was the wires coming of the alternater were carroded. not that the alternater was bad itself.

that was my 1st post the cleaning would get rid of the corrosion. Using some sandpaper you could have gotten the metal shiny and the contact would have been good and it would have worked!

not the connections the wire between the alternater and battery was bad. it was not letting the power travel across.
