Question Warning Lights!

I drive a 1998 Grand Prix 3.8L SE model

Recently this past week a warning light started coming on and off that I am not familiar with, and it's not listed in my manual. It's a rectangle with and arrow inside it pointing downwards towards what looks like waves, and there is what looks like a nozzel on the top of the rectangle. Does anyone know that this one means? This warning light is located on the left top side of my dash. It's not staying on all of the time but it seems to stay on more and more now.

I'm pretty sure that there has to be something wrong because just this morning on my way into work on the DVP I had another warning light come on and stay on. It an orange light on the bottom right of my dash and it kind of looks like a map shape and has three bars on the sides of it, one on the left, top and the right.

I stopped by my mechanics the other day to show him the light but just before I got to his shop it went off. He took a look and said he couldn't see anything wrong. Are these 2 lights something I should take very seriously? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong based on any past experiences?

Re: Warning Lights!

Well went out an looked at my dash. I have a 1998 GTX. Your lights are totaly different from mine. Your owners manual should have a listing of all the lights on your dash.
Tomorrow I'd call dealer and see what they say.
Sorry I can't help. Have to leave for work. If this is still open when I get home, I'll see if I can find anything. But I'm sure by then, one of the guys will come up with anwser.

Good luck

I don't know what they mean?

I checked my owners manual and had no luck there. None of the warning lights that are currently on in my car are displayed in there. Another thing is that my manual is in French and I don't speak french, and the diagrams of the dashes look nothing like the one in my car.

This variation may have to do with the fact that the original owner of my car ordered it with the 3.8 instead of the usual 3.1 that comes with the ES model.

My car is the 1998 4 door, 3.8 L V6, and for those who may ask I am the second owner I have had it off lease since 2000, and it currently has 184,000 km's on it.

Here is a list of things I have done to my car:
Head gasket
Rocker Covers
wires (bosh)
plugs (NGK Platimums)
lower steering bearing

and I have my general check up every 5000 Km's
