Question no problem, just a question

Just what exactly is the difference between a grand prix and a grand am? I have a 92 grand prix, and it seems to be basically the same as a grand am to me. I really just want to know so that I can try to expand my parts accessability at the wrecking yards.

Thanks for your help.

Re: no problem, just a question

There are quite a few differences between the Grand Prix and the Grand Am. Although some parts are interchangable such as heater fan motors and possibly an engine or two depending on the size engine. Usually the 2.3, 2.4 and 3.1 are interchangable but that is about it. Even the bolt patterns are different on the wheels so they are not interchangable. You are better off sticking to parts made for the Grand Am and not try to interchange them. Most wrecking yards, if you are looking for used parts, will have a cross reference guide to help match up parts from different models. Hope this answers your question!
