Re: Enzo vs F40 vs McLarenF1 vs Diablo GT

Of them all, the McLaren has the most power, the highest top speed and more than likely the best acceleration. It is also the second best engineered (After the Enzo, which is also far newer) and has the impressive 3-seat layout. Tiff Needel also commented on the McLaren F1 XP4 that it's easy to drive and park. So I'll choose the McLaren.

The F40 is number two because it has an amazing Twin Turbo 3.0 V8, it also has a special character (Being the last car made under Enzo's eye), the character easily makes up for the lack of precision and engineering (Gordon Murray once said when asked if the McLaren F1'd be like an F40: "No, I don't think anybody at McLaren can weld that badly")

The Lamborghini Diablo GT is next, it ditched the heavy AWD of the Diablo, retained the glorious 6.0 V12, looked like something the devil would drive and was the last proper Lamborghini.

The Enzo is last for me, it may be the second closest car to hypercar perfection (After the Carrera GT of course), but it just doesn't feel anything close to special for some reason.

Re: Enzo vs F40 vs McLarenF1 vs Diablo GT

1st. F40 - I love the looks, sound, and raw appeal of this beast.

2nd. McLaren F1 - savage sound from that legendary engine, 240mph. What else can you say.

3rd. Enzo - like Jimmy, this car doesn't inspire me. It's so out-Ferrari'd by the Porsche Carrera GT it's not even close. Hopefully Ferrari can bring a little passion back into its future designs.

The Diablo GT, much as i love it, has no place in this comparison.

Re: Enzo vs F40 vs McLarenF1 vs Diablo GT

F40 first for me...looks, handling, braking, wonderful engine...just the best

The others...eh...I'd rather say this

2nd Carerra GT...I really like this car and even though it's not the fastest supercar in the world...I love the looks, sound, and it has a good engine, brakes, and handles well...so this is my 2nd choice

i don't know much about the Enxo, but the F40 looks kind of old. Its cost is about 200k+. Diablo's a little faster than the F4o. F1's the fastest and a 3-seater, but the price might a bit too high. i'd have to go with a diablo. its good-looking, fast (t.s. around 202 mph), and the newest one (01) is about 240k-.

Re: Enzo vs F40 vs McLarenF1 vs Diablo GT

mclaren F1-till the present day, is the king of cars imo
looks speed interior. this car made koenigsegg and buggati purposely try and make there top speed above 241.
the mclaren F1 took it to a level the world had not seen.

the ferrari Enzo is another car that made lots of other companies think, i personally love the looks of the enzo, and the performance is outstanding.

were would the enzo be without the F40. faster than even the next generation F50. i would say the F40 is the real enzo

as for the lambo gt, i'd say its the best lambo yet, but had so much comp in 1999, imo didnt stand out as much

Re: Enzo vs F40 vs McLarenF1 vs Diablo GT

the biggest difference between the Mclaren and the others is that there was no compromise in it's design.
they didn't try to make it an 'easy to drive car' as that would've unquestionably lead to sacrifices in other areas.
this is what sets the modern cars apart.
the enzo and carrera gt (although it is a gt so i guess it's kinda exempt) are flawed because of it being tamed.
the famous quote about being being about to drive the enzo with three fingers comes to mind.

the beauty with cars like the F1 and especially the F40 is that if you drive quickly in it, it is because you are driving it well.

Re: Enzo vs F40 vs McLarenF1 vs Diablo GT

I hate the Enzo. Everything about that car is messed up, from teh headlights to the exhaust. It might be a powerful machine, but it looks like a hideous monster.

I personally like the McLaren F1 the most. But for the pricetag of a 6 star hotel....I'll stick with a Diablo GT, because it looks good, has luxury accessories and has the power to back it up.

I'm gunna have to go with the McLaren F1. To this day, there isn't better street car out there, which must drive the guys at Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo, etc. insane. Who would have thought 12 years ago when the F1 came out that it would still beat out all of its competition up through now. I don't think I've ever read an article that didn't praise this car. The most recent I think I've read was the Porsche Carrera GT v. McLaren F1 in either CAR or EVO (I always confuse the two). This car is simply amazing.

Not to mention, it has a N/A BMW S70 engine, and what could possibly be better then a BMW 12?

McLaren put almost no concern into profits from this car, and that is partly why it is so great. The McLaren F1 was the first production to use a complete carbon fiber chassis and body. Theres a ton of records out there that the McLaren holds or held like the Top Speed record and the 0-100-0 record (F1 LM). And thats just straight line numbers, its also one of the best handling cars ever made. This is one of the greatest cars that will ever be made. Simply amazing.
