Talking Never Keep a Man from His Meal!

Warning! This could become quite long! In the event it gets too long, STOP! Take a nap, and come back again. Thank You.*

Well, that whole title has to deal with one of the races I had tonight. But overall it was the better race, so I'll save it till the end. Also, I have some goodies that I just installed this past week, I took some pics, so I'll get them in after I finish this thread.

Where do I begin. Surprisingly, I had quite a few races tonight. But, I must've cruised for about an hour before I actually found something. HO.K. Here we go.

The first race had to be the longest, it went on for quite some time. The victim: 92-95 Civic Hatchback. Black, lowered and exhaust as far as I knew. I was caught behind traffic, at one of the lights. As we slowly progressed forward, this Civic kept swerving in and out of tight traffic. I noticed him in the side mirror, and before I knew it, the dumbass cut me off.

Traffic started to spread out, so I caught up to him, and then I pulled along his side, before I got to his rear, he tried to take off, Oh goody, he wants to play I'm at 40, and I drop it to 2nd and punch. HO HO! Not even less then 2 seconds did I match him, and then by 3rd I pulled up a car length and continued my stride. I signalled the kill , and we proceeded to do the same routine for atleast 5 mins. I guess he never learned that he wasn't going to win . I had to flip a biotch to get him away from me.

Kinda funny that I think of this now, but several of the cars I raced were black, lowered and had exhaust!! Must be a trend . But the difference with this car, no exhaust? Alright. The next race was a 97+ Prelude. This had totally surprised me, I thought I would have lost right off the bat. But this guy slowly passed me, and then he slowed to my pace. What the hell, I'll give it a try.

We were doing 45, so once again, I dropped down to 2nd and kept it there until he made the first move. I glanced over, and could barely see through his tinted windows, but he was looking at me. He acknowledged the first move, started to take off, but I held his pace. I was staying with him. I matched his speed through 3rd gear, and I made the move to slow down, and he did to (traffic was coming up). I rolled down my window, and gave him a thumbs up. He turned away. Was hoping to get a chance to talk to him.

3rd race, not the best yet. I finally decided to come back home, and I went into the turning lane that goes onto University Ave. I guess some guy was follwoing me and the Lude. He pulled up next to me with a blank look on his face. He was driving what seemed to be a stock 4 dr Civic LX. But when I raced it, it was fairly fast. I just gave him a nod, and noticed some honies in the car with him. The one in the backseat kept eyeing me, so I smiled .

The light changed, and I kept it in first going through the turn, I could hear him doing the same. As soon as we straitened out, we punched it. He stayed even, and then shift into 2nd. I came up to 5500 rpm, and Vtec kicked in(had to throw that in ). This gave me the advantage I needed, I pulled half a length, and then 3rd came I pulled and continued pulling. I slowed down, after signalling the win, and he came up to me and waved. I couldn't see the girl in back, but I know she was looking at me She wanted me. The idiot took off, and the light ahead was red. I swear that guy was right in the white solid line before he slammed his brakes. He slid! Nearly hit traffic going through, and then continued through the red light. Had me worried about the passengers.

Alright here's the final race. So I'm on the way home, and I'm coming up towards Center street in Provo. I'm starting to get really hungry, so I decided to go to East Bay and get some Wendy's. From behind, I see some lights coming up on me fast. I couldn't tell what it was, I had never noticed these lights before. When the car past, I saw some flame decals, and fart can. It was a Ford Contour. Hmmmm . No traffic ahead, radar detector wasn't picking up anything, so I punched it. I matched the dudes pace, and he looked over, had some buds in the car who were looking at my car.

The dude smiled, and tried to take off. I kept with him in 3rd, but once again Vtec saved me and pushed me ahead. We were just passing Center Street, when the light just after turned red. We stopped and I looked over at the guys once again. was the look I received from all of them. Alright, half a mile, and Wendy's is there.

The crossing light changed yellow, and I checked behind for cops, but luckily, no traffic. Just me and you Contour. I held it to 4k and launched the moment the light changed. The tires spun and from the corner of my eye, saw some white smoke from the tires. Man that stunk, but I pulled ahead peeling through the instersection. But he's right at my door, then 2nd RRRRRIIIINNIIINNNN! I missed the shift! Quick reflexes got me right into 2nd without a moment to spare. We stayed there until 3rd where I pulled a little bit more.

I'm coming up to 90, they're behind by a car length. Soon, there's a hill that leads right into East Bay, and Wendy's is just after it. We hit the hill, and weight comes into my favor, they slow down some more and I pull ahead, get to the top of the hill and start to come down the hill fast. Flick! Light changed red, I tried to get over but the Contour was right there. Damnit. I'm hungry. Light changes, he stays with me. I'm trying to get over, he's looking at me, I'm signalling from him to get out of the way. MOVE! I make a jump, and he does to, so I slow down and cut behind him. Just in time to pull into Wendy's. WHEEWW!! Made it.

I went throught the drive through, got my Chicken Tenders, and was about to pull out when the guys in the Contour pulled next to me in the line. WTF? His friends still had the same look . So, I pulled into a parking spot, and talked with them for a while. I mentioned, had his friends not been in the car, he probably would have took me on the long run. He smiled, and I gave some of the boys my tenders. I figured since I won, they deserved some sort of 2nd place prize. Pretty cool guys, and I won some good races. Fun night, I'll put up my goodies pics, so take a look. Late...

Now that is what i call a real story here. Nicely written Civracer.

I hate it when people like that guy you mentioned there just do things with people in his car without thinking of the safety of them. That, i think, is just plain dumb.
Ok, if nothing happens allright for him, but if a car would've hit him or he another car,... Damn i Can't imagine

Wow dude, awsome night huh? I can never get more then one race in per night, I just feel guilty pushing the car so far so often.

I like your choice in mods. have you ran a dyno or track times already? I'd like to see what kind of difference they're gonna do.

Well, so far, I like how my car is performing. It feels good knowing that I can keep up with cars that normally would burn me . The cam gear should be in by this week. By next week I hope to install the camshaft and gear at the same time. Then by summer I hope to buy the Throttle and Intake Manifold. The drag strips should be open and then I'll get some results. I can't wait! Late...
