Smile Finished - 911 Twin Turbo by Koenig Specials

Here is my second completed model of the year. The Koenig Specials 911 Twin Turbo.

I painted this Cobra Colors Nissan Daytona Blue Metallic over HOK Orion Silver. The interior is painted various blues and greys with Tamiya acylics.

The kit is by Fujimi, and amazingly they got the stance of the car right. This car is built out of the box with no modifications.

Holy! Look at the dish on the rear wheels!!
Nice paint job, my gosh is that a brilliant color or what
Did you apply it with a airbush or can and did you polish?
Is there is a website for Cobra Colors?

Thanks guys!

This blue is very vivid, and I'm really happy with it. It's called metallic, but there is actually more pearl flakes in the bottle once it settles than metal flakes.

I applied this with an airbrush. It was cleared and polished after color.

www.cobracolors.com is the web address where you'll find this awesome paint.

Hopefully the second pic is viewable now.

Hey,

Sorry, that car seems ugly to me. But your model looks great. Paint looks super. Is the body molded with all that body kit, or seperate pieces?
Keep up the great work.

That's the beauty of the 1:1 Nissan Daytona Blue, it has subtle pearl shades depending on viewing langle/lighting...Cobra Colors has nailed it.
I'm sad that it has to be applied by airbrush though...got any underbody pics and did Fujimi do a good job with engine detail?

Nice job Matt! That actually is a pearl paint, but for some reason when Nissan assigned it to the 350Z they chose to name it as a metallic. It looks great on the Porsche.

blubaja - The body of this car was molded all as one piece. Very nice on Fujimis part

675datsun - The engine components are simplified on this kit, but at least they are there.

This came out nice!

While the Veilside looks really goofy (like a platypus with elephant man's disease ), the Koenig looks a lot better in it's goofiness... somehow it fits the Porsche look especially in front-only the taillights seem a bit sedan-like and out of place. Neat model! Make me want to break out the Koenig 928. Nice color choice too.

Great job, Matt! Color rocks!

To me this car is the Porsche version 80's Testarossa, it steps on the line that devides taste and gaudiness.
